Case Study / Student Accommodation

Battery Park

Campus Development Management has been retained by Land Securities to provide development and investment support on the 420 bed student accommodation scheme that forms part of a major mixed used regeneration project in Selly Oak including a Sainsbury destination food store and non-food out-of-town retail outlets.

The mandate initially revolved around optimising the scheme by addressing key factors including scale and mass, product types, mix and efficiency of accommodation, engineering and services design, common and management areas and fit out and ultimately ensuring the project would meet the demands of both the anticipated student audience and investor / operator market.

Campus was subsequently engaged to approach and present to a shortlist of potential investment partners in 2015 which culminated in the selection of a preferred party with whom the development team has continued to work to ensure the scheme acknowledges the product and operational requirements of the investor.

Campus has supported Land Securities throughout the development and investment analysis and commercial and legal negotiations.

Completion of the scheme is anticipated in advance of the 2019 academic year.
